Why Hope Dallas
Seth and Lacey Henderson have been serving at-risk kids and youth in East Dallas since moving to Dallas in 2015 - in fact, they've given their lives to education and ministry since 2005. After seeing the stories of struggle and poverty first hand in Dallas, they knew it was time to act on a 17 year dream - even in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic! The ministry of Hope Dallas was formed out of a calling to serve struggling and underserved people and see Jesus ignite hope and transform lives.
Despite how big the needs of our lives are, we know from personal experience there’s a hope that is alive for those of us who are struggling - God sees us, cares for us, and has great purpose and meaning for those who look to Jesus. God has created humanity to shine bright and live fully alive, so we are working to identify and serve the growing needs in our city and put this message of hope, the message of life, this message of love into action.
What is obvious is that there are thousands of people in our city crippled in darkness not living lives of hope, passion, or joy. Despite all of this, a light is still shining because God is still at work… in all of us… and has not left us to our own - in fact, God deeply cares, is with us, has a purpose, and is working to restore it all.
There is great hope in that.
And together with God’s help, we can shine a light so bright that it overwhelms every dark place.
Because if we don’t, darkness will deepen… needs will go unserved, purpose will fade, pain will cripple, and our schools, neighborhoods, and our city will be full of hurting people living in darkness without the life-changing hope that can shine bright in every dark place.
So, we must come together to light our city with a life-changing hope that is not only bright inside us but is also bright outside us - to light the dark and bridge the divides…
So that, there is a light bright and powerful enough to fill our city with passion and purpose and shines brighter than any darkness in our city… a light so bright that it lights our city with hope and lives are transformed.
For the good of Dallas,
Seth and Lacey Henderson
